Service Description

Join Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW), Mental Health Therapist, RYT 200 yoga instructor, and 95-CYT yoga instructor Meghan Smith in this 6 week Empowerment Group designed to help teens develop essential skills for personal growth and emotional well-being. Each week, we will explore different topics (including self-esteem, core beliefs, communication, mindful movement, stress management, and cultivating courage) through engaging activities and discussions to empower teens to lead happier, healthier lives. Meghan is a Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) working towards her Independent Social Worker (LISW) license. Her undergraduate degree is in Social Work with a minor in Psychology. Meghan earned her Master of Social Work degree from Clarke University and is also a 200 hour certified yoga teacher with an additional 95 hour youth and toddler yoga teacher certification. She is a dedicated and compassionate mental health therapist with a passion for helping individuals achieve emotional well-being and personal growth. She employs a client-centered strengths based approach, tailoring therapy to meet the unique needs of each individual. Specializing in Anxiety, ADHD, Life Transitions, Mood Disorders, Relationship Issues, School Issues, and Trauma. Meghan provides a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. By incorporating evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and Play Therapy, Meghan empowers clients to overcome challenges, develop coping skills, and improve their overall quality of life. Committed to ongoing learning and professional development, Meghan stays abreast of the latest research and therapeutic techniques to ensure the highest standard of care. Outside of the work she does at Centrally Rooted Meghan works providing individual mental health therapy to children, adolescents, and adults at Bridget Bartlett Counseling in Dubuque. Meghan also enjoys spending time with her family and friends, especially her two daughters and two dogs, reading, yoga, pickleball, and learning new things.
